

Panchayati Raj





Chotanagpur Craft Development Society has been empanelled for Panchayati Raj-related training programmes since 2019 in Lohardaga and Sahibganj districts of Jharkhand.
Under this programme, three-day training programmes are organized for Ward Members and elected Panchayati Raj representatives. The training is designed to strengthen the knowledge and capacities of elected representatives so that they can effectively contribute to the development of their villages and Gram Panchayats.
The major areas covered during the training include:

Understanding the Panchayati Raj system and the roles and responsibilities of elected representatives.

Planning and implementation of village development activities.

Identification of local development needs and preparation of village development plans.
-
Understanding various government schemes and development programmes.
-
Community participation and involvement of villagers in local development.
-
Promotion of transparency, accountability and effective functioning of the Gram Panchayat.

Strengthening the capacity of Ward Members to address local issues and coordinate development activities.
Through these three-day training programmes, the organization has been supporting elected Ward Members and Panchayati Raj representatives in improving their knowledge, leadership skills and capacity for effective village-level development in Lohardaga and Sahibganj districts since 2019.
