Since 2020, CCDS has been implementing skill development and artisan training programmes across Jharkhand, with the objective of enhancing the skills, employment opportunities, and income of rural artisans and community members.

The programmes are conducted in 25-day and 50-day training formats, with 20 beneficiaries in each batch. The 25-day training covers Jute Craft, Bamboo Craft, Doll & Toys Making, Stitching & Embroidery, and Lac Bangle Making, while the 50-day training focuses on Wood Craft, Dokra Craft, and Rugs & Durries Making.

The training is conducted through the Industries Department with a focus on practical, hands-on skill development. After successful completion of the training, beneficiaries are also provided a stipend as per the applicable programme provisions, supporting them during the transition from training to livelihood generation.

Following the training, CCDS provides market linkage and handholding support for 1–2 years, helping trained artisans market their products, establish sustainable livelihoods, and increase their income.

The programme is being implemented across all 24 districts of Jharkhand, covering blocks in different parts of the state. Through an integrated approach of skill development, financial support, market linkage, and continuous handholding, CCDS works towards strengthening rural livelihoods and enabling beneficiaries to achieve greater economic independence.
