Natural Farming Promotion Project

The JIVA – Natural Farming Promotion Project is a ₹30.00 lakh initiative funded by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and implemented by Chotanagpur Craft Development Society (CCDS). The project commenced in April 2025 and is currently being implemented in Pandariya, Toto, and Kota villages of Bhandra Block, Lohardaga District, Jharkhand.

The project aims to promote natural farming among small and marginal farmers by encouraging the adoption of sustainable, low-cost, and eco-friendly agricultural practices. It focuses on reducing farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides while improving soil health, conserving water resources, enhancing biodiversity, and building climate-resilient farming systems.

Through farmer mobilization, capacity-building programmes, practical demonstrations, and continuous technical support, the project strengthens farmers' knowledge and skills in natural farming techniques. By promoting community participation and agroecological practices, the JIVA Project seeks to improve agricultural productivity, reduce cultivation costs, enhance household incomes, and ensure long-term environmental sustainability and livelihood security for rural farming communities.
